Organic Energy News
The UK is now the third largest market in Europe for a leading edge brand of wood pellet boiler – thanks to a Welsh renewable energy company.
Herbert Ortner, founder of Austrian biomass boiler giant ÖkoFEN, recently visited the Welshpool headquarters of Organic Energy following another year of record-breaking sales by the team.
Mr Ortner held talks with managing director Andy Boroughs, and toured the dedicated showroom and installer training facilities. Organic Energy is the sole distributor in the UK and Ireland for ÖkoFEN, which is at the cutting edge of wood pellet boiler design and manufacture.
Since signing an exclusive supply deal more than a decade ago, Organic Energy has developed a network of Approved Installers across the country to meet demand for ÖkoFEN products.
Mr Boroughs said talks between the two specialists included exciting plans for future developments.
“ÖkoFEN continues to be the leading specialist in pellet heating and has some innovative new products planned for launch over the next few years.
“We have driven the rapid growth in the UK market and were delighted to hear that the UK is now the third largest market for the ÖkoFEN range. In Austria, 70 per cent of sales come directly from word of mouth recommendations from other customers and this is starting to be reflected in the UK.
“Customers recognise the significant cost savings that wood pellet boilers can offer and thanks to our network of trained installers across the country we are able to meet demand for the products.
“In recognition of this, Mr Ortner will be returning as guest of honour at an event we will be hosting later this year to recognise the best of our Approved Installers, all part of Team OE,” he added.
Organic Energy in Welshpool also supplies solar thermal hot water systems to home owners and businesses throughout the UK.
